About the Tommy Hafey Club
Entering our 20th year, in 2023, the Tommy Hafey Club Launched in 2003. The Tommy Hafey Club Inc. is a business networking group for individuals, sponsors and supporters of the Richmond Football Club.
It provides a membership and involvement outside official Richmond Football Club activities and match day functions. The Tommy Hafey Club luncheons provide a professional forum for members and their guests to network while enjoying five star corporate hospitality and entertainment with a distinctly yellow and black theme.
Providing two business events in 2003 and three every year since, the Tommy Hafey Club by the end of 2020 has provided members and guests with entertaining functions and networking opportunities at a total of 54 quality functions at premier CBD venues and more recently the MEBank Centre at Punt Road.

Engulfed in a proud tradition of one of the most successful AFL clubs, the Tommy Hafey Club is honoured to have had an Australian sporting legend, Tommy Hafey, as its patron. Tommy was an inspiring individual who adapted his knowledge and passion for sport to the business arena where he inspired many organisations with his motivational talks.
Since Tommy's passing in 2014, his wife Maureen has become our much loved patron - it is truely a joy to catch up with her at our events.

In recognition of Tommy’s 248 games as Tiger coach, the Tommy Hafey Club reserved the first 248 memberships for the special category of “Foundation Member”. These Foundation Memberships sold out rapidly and have become highly valued by the holders.
Tommy Hafey Club Events
The Tommy Hafey Club stages three luncheons during the football season and a “Members” Awards Night at the end of the year.
Luncheons
Each luncheon has a special entertainment theme based on football topics which recognise both the rich history and the exciting future of the Richmond Football Club. Members and their guests can enjoy watching past and present players, coaches and support staff share stories or offer their point of view on a wide range of football topics. The venues are first class and the live entertainment is not to be missed.
Awards Night
At the end of each year, there is a special Awards Night which is free for members. This is a more intimate event at which the annual Tommy Hafey Club Award is presented to a valued member of the Tiger community who is chosen for exhibiting Tommy's Golden Rules: Dedication, Determination, Discipline and Desire. The night also features a special Tiger guest who addresses members about the Club’s progress and plans for the following season.
The Calendar of Events is also unveiled for the following year for early diary entries.
About Tommy Hafey
The Tommy Hafey Club was honoured to have an Australian sporting legend in Tommy Hafey as its inaugural patron.
Tommy was the ideal role model who transferred his passion for sport into the business and education arenas where he inspired many business people and school students alike with his motivational talks.
Together with his life partner and pillar of support, Maureen, Tommy embraced the Tommy Hafey Club as he once did his “boys” at Tigerland.
Having Tommy and Maureen at Tommy Hafey Club events was a wonderful endorsement of their commitment as well as the status the events have attained. To have Maureen continue her support as patron further underlines the marvellous bond with Richmond.

Our Purpose
The Tommy Hafey Club was established for the promotion and financial support of the Richmond Football Club, the Richmond Football Club Former Players & Officials Welfare Trust and the Jack Dyer Foundation. Since the formation of the Fighting Tiger Fund, proceeds have also been directed to this cause.

Since its inception, the Tommy Hafey Club has made financial contributions of just under $200,000.00
The Jack Dyer Foundation
In 1996, Richmond established a Foundation through which donations could support the redevelopment of the facilities at Punt Road Oval.
It was decided to recognise one the most valued sons of Tigerland, Jack Dyer, by naming the Foundation in his honour.
The successful launch of the Foundation saw $1.2 million raised. This allowed Stage One to be completed with the main focus being the refurbishment and restoration of the Grandstand.
The challenge is now to complete the "Vision" for Punt Road and further redevelop the facilities for players, staff and members.
The Jack Dyer Foundation is fundamental to the future development of Punt Road Oval and Richmond Football Club.
Donations to support the Jack Dyer Foundation are tax deductible when made to the Australian Sports Foundation. (The Jack Dyer Foundation is an approved project conducted under the charter of the Australian Sports Foundation).
